DUE TO INFORSEEN CIRCUMSTANCES THIS CLASS IS POSTPONED. DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED. Join the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center for 4 classes in a course designed for watercolor beginners or those needing a little guidance and confidence. Beginning March 15 we’ll meet 4 Saturdays from 10-12 at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center. Instructor Brett LaGue will cover materials, tools, basic techniques — including color mixing — and how to express your creativity. He’ll cover landscape, still life, pets and portraits.
A refreshingly encouraging and helpful teacher, Brett has exhibited his energetic paintings in watercolor and oil across VA in dozens of solo & group presentations. In foul weather LaGue works from his studio, or turns his eyes to his own yard, neighborhood and even his cat, to keep his brush moving and paintings fresh. Never one to miss a great view, he has even been known to pay close attention to the various traffic stops along route 220 where it is under construction. “It keeps it from being boring and is a great way to train/exercise your eye when the view is particularly interesting. You have to be quick though–since you never know when they will flag you on!”
Please register by March 10th. Class size: Minimum 4. Cost: $135 for 4 weeks, not including supplies. (See list below)
