Can you smell it? The smell of bbq wafting through Whispering Pines Campground at Douthat State Park. Make plans to attend the 7th Annual Campsite Cook-off on Saturday, October 8, 2022. An opportunity for bbq, music, craft vendors, and even beer and wine if you want.
This campfire cook-out is a bit different than most. In this one, the cooks won’t know what type of meat they will be cooking until they arrive. Friday night, teams will be given the meat to prepare overnight. Spectators will be able to walk to each of the 21 campsites (teams) and taste samples Saturday. If you still want more food, there will be bbq available for purchase.
Entrance fee is $10 per person however, ages 10 and under enter free. There is no parking fee required for guests attending the event. Parking will be off site with shuttle buses running to and from the campground.
