Invasive Plant Removal

Join us this Earth Day at Douthat State Park to make a lasting impact on our natural landscapes. Volunteers will help remove invasive plant species that threaten the park’s native ecosystems. Meet at the Park Office.

What to Expect:

  • A brief introduction to invasive species and their effects on the environment
  • Hands-on removal of targeted invasive plants
  • Guidance from park rangers on best removal practices
  • Time to explore and enjoy the beauty of Douthat State Park after the event

What to Bring:

  • Sturdy, closed-toed shoes
  • Work gloves
  • Eye protection
  • Long pants and sleeves to protect against scratches and insects
  • A refillable water bottle

This is a great opportunity for individuals, families and groups to give back to nature while enjoying the outdoors. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to get your hands dirty for a good cause.
