Invasive Plant Removal
Join us this Earth Day at Douthat State Park to make a lasting impact on our natural landscapes. Volunteers will help remove invasive plant species that threaten the park’s native ecosystems. Meet at the Park Office.
What to Expect:
- A brief introduction to invasive species and their effects on the environment
- Hands-on removal of targeted invasive plants
- Guidance from park rangers on best removal practices
- Time to explore and enjoy the beauty of Douthat State Park after the event
What to Bring:
- Sturdy, closed-toed shoes
- Work gloves
- Eye protection
- Long pants and sleeves to protect against scratches and insects
- A refillable water bottle
This is a great opportunity for individuals, families and groups to give back to nature while enjoying the outdoors. No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to get your hands dirty for a good cause.
