Certified Teachers on Site!
Recital has concluded and I have spent the day looking at campers and Randy took us out to eat… so… it’s time to go ahead and make my next announcement….
For the past several months I have been working on my next adventure and I am excited to announce that all the pieces have aligned!
I am opening my own dance studio! ♡♡♡
I have over 30 years of dance experience and trainings and greatly enjoy dancing, teaching, and giving back to my community!
I have been featured in IClog blog as instructor of the month, been a guest instructor at the Appalachian Stomp and Kickin it in Kentucky, trained as a Rhythm Works dance instructor, trained in sensory learning, am a certified chair yoga instructor, danced in the Shendoah Ballets Nutcracker, created award winning talent routines for several pageants, was the CHS JV cheer sponsor for 2 years, and was the B league cheer coach for the Covington Recreation department for 8 years, created the Rhinestone Rockers recreational clogging group, started the UDE dance team, and started the Roanoke College Dance Team. I was also named Darby’ Dancers Instructor of the Month.
I have attended various workshops over the last 12 years and am always looking to improve my dance knowedledge. I have several upcoming trainings.
My passion is working with the youth of the Highlands, encouraging them to give back through dance and community service projects, and improve their fine motor, gross motor, rhythm, and social skills. Rhythm is a early indicator of future reading success!
My main job is working as a reading specialist but dance also holds a huge place in my heart.
Many people have asked …. why not sooner and it just wasn’t the right time.
I hope you will join this new studio on the journey to dance creativity, positive environment, community outreach, and the building of stronger dancers.
