Paint your own cow portrait with guidance from Alleghany Highlands resident artist Barbara Rowe. Students from teen to adults will choose and paint from a variety of cow pictures and the workshop includes a step-by-step demonstration. This workshop will be on April 29th from 10am to 3:30pm with a break for lunch. The Cost is $55 and includes a prepped canvas.
Students will need to bring acrylic paints and brushes. The following acrylic colors are recommended:
- Titanium white
- Unbleached titanium
- Mars black (or other black)
- Burnt umber
- Red oxide
- Raw sienna
- Filbert size 8
- Filbert size 4
- Fan size 10
- Shader size 8 and 0
- A Round or two
Barbara has lived in neighboring Rockbridge County for over 30 years, raising 3 children. She worked in higher education administration for 25 years and retired from W & L University. After taking a ‘Process Painting Awakening the Creative Workshop” she began painting. Mostly self-taught, Barbara enjoys painting animal portraits.
